About the alliance
The SoftwareGR Alliance provides basic assistance to local user groups, including financial controls, tax filing, and non-profit exempt status. There is currently no charge to participate in the Alliance.

SGR is a 501c6. It aligns closely with our business-focused mission of being an association dedicated to building and supporting the software design and development community in West Michigan. We do not have the philanthropic benefits Associated with a 501c3. Our existing structure allows us to handle the difficulties of creating and managing a legal entity, enabling our member groups to focus on providing outstanding content.
